Today I am hanging out with my little man, Mason. After working outside in the garden we were looking for a snack to have and one of our favorite snacks is smoothies. We had partial jar of canned peaches from last year and some leftover raspberries from what we put in the freezer this year. Add in some yogurt and some ice cubes and blend until delicious!
For the adult version of a breakfast smoothie I will add coffee cubes. if there is ever any leftover coffee in the pot I will pour it into ice cube trays and freeze them. once they’re frozen the next day I will take them out and put them into a container that I keep in the freezer.
Don’t be afraid to try adding some new ingredients to your smoothies. Peanut butter, honey, oatmeal, chopped nuts, chia seeds, flax seeds, protein powder, graham crackers even! Try fresh herbs our spices like mint or lemonbalm. How about a tomato-based smoothie with ingredients that you would use in a spaghetti sauce or maybe even chili?
